Dear Viriditas Community,
I am writing to you looking out the window of United Airlines flight #303 on my way to La Guardia Airport. I will be spending a night in New York City with my sister, Nicole, and then tomorrow the two of us will be flying to Zürich, Switzerland, where we will join our parents and two brothers for a family reunion. Part of our reunion will include a few days in Klosters, Switzerland. Klosters is a little mountain village nestled high up in the Swiss Alps. As I look forward to skiing the slopes of the beloved mountains where I learned how to ski, my heart skips a beat with excitement. And for those of you who are wondering, will I be bringing back any Swiss chocolate to share with all of you at our February events, the answer is YES!
My heart also skips a beat of excitement when I anticipate the upcoming events that David and I will be performing in this coming February.
First, on February 5th, instead of hosting our usual Tap Into Transformation, David and I will be participating in the opening reception of the 6th Annual NoBo Art District Group Show to be held at the First Congregational Church, Broadway & Pine, 6-9 pm. The NoBo Art District is an artist run organization dedicated to promoting the 220+ artists and creative industries clustered along Broadway in North Boulder, Colorado. Characterized by a mix of artist friendly industrial warehouses, new urbanist neighborhoods, retail and restaurants, the NoBo Art District’s current heart is at the intersection of Broadway and Yarmouth Avenue with many artists’ studios fanning out from there within walking distance of each other. Viriditas Studio is one of those studios. For more information about the NoBo Art District, check out the NoBo website: noboartdistrict.org.
David and I will be tap dancing, singing and reciting poetry at the opening reception. We have created some new choreography to some Michael Jackson music which you do not want to miss! I will be singing St. Hildegard’s O Viridissima Virga and David will be reciting his poem What Is Soul? Also, my painting of St. Hildegard’s Illumination which is the heart of the final scene of Feather’s On The Breath of God will be part of the art show which will be on display at the church through March. David and I hope to see you at the reception.
Then, on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, David and I will again be hosting Tap Into Love at the Viriditas Studio from 7-9 pm. Those of you who joined us for this performance last year will remember how heart warming and inspiring the evening was. This year will be no different as David and I explore four of the themes of our joint spiritual path: Joy, Commitment, Creativity and Transformation. We are pulling out all the stops this year. We will be playing our marimba and djembes. I will be on my Steinway and David on his electric keyboard. There will be lots of new choreography. We are especially excited to share our latest compositions and some of our favorite poetry. Like last year, we will be serving some delicious appetizers. Do something really unique and uplifting this Valentine’s Day! You can purchase tickets at viriditasllc.com
In closing I want to especially thank all of you who have joined us at the recent Tap Into Transformation evenings. David and I personally get so much out of dancing with you at the beginning of each month. January was no exception. We created a powerful dance to the theme song from the movie Rocky and invited our dancers to dance their New Year’s Resolutions. My resolutions were renewed health, more rest, connection with family and travel. As I put those resolutions into the dance that night, again I felt my heart skip a beat… For those of you who missed the evening, here is the promo video of the dance we did on January 1st. I encourage you to dance along with your New Year’s resolutions in mind!
