The July Tap Into Transformation celebrates independence, freedom, and the creativity that comes with it. Let us rebel and stomp our feet as we let go of those things that we let ourselves be limited by... and let us revel and tap our toes in celebration of our ability to transform our lives with the help of Spirit, who provides all things needed.

What do you need to say goodbye to… set free or get free of… so that more of you can light up the sky and splash the world with your own fireworks, passions and gifts?

Viriditas Newsletter, June

Dear Viriditas Community,

I’m especially delighted to announce the completion of the movie By This Kiss. It is a five minute cinematic poem inspired by the words of St. Hildegard of Bingen which are painted on my studio wall.

“As the Creator loves Creation, so Creation loves the Creator.

Creation, of course, was fashioned to be adorned, to be showered, to be gifted with the love of the Creator.

The entire world has been embraced by this KISS.

God has gifted Creation with everything that is necessary.”

Some of the words viewers have used to describe the movie are; tender, connected, sensual, and awakening. I encourage you to view it here and please let me know your experience.

My experience in making the film was very moving and strengthening. By This Kiss will be part of the experience of Feathers On The Breath of God at the Bas Bleu Theater in July.

As some of you know this round of Feathers On The Breath of God will include an interlude with a tap dancing Archangel. (a.k.a. David Sharp!) Rehearsals are full of joy and laughter. It is a treat to work with the staff of the Bas Bleu Theater.

We are already receiving great press in anticipation of our opening night. Please read what Fort Collins magazine has to say.  (click here)

Tickets are available for purchase now! (click here) One of you dear people has already purchased tickets to two of the shows. Yes, there are angels amongst us!

Magic was in the air at the May Tap Into Transformation event. We had decided to serve margaritas & catered food by Chipotle Mexican Grill. David and I went to Target to purchase inexpensive margarita glasses. We found only nineteen left in the dollar bin but in beautiful shades of blue, pink and green. Sure enough! Exactly nineteen people attended! Wow! They danced their hearts out around the Mexican Sombrero. It too was the perfect color for a Viriditas event, dark green!

My favorite moment was singing Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye (Sing & Don’t Cry)….also known as  Cielito Lindo as our closing song. We sounded so alive!

What a joy it was on May 19th to present at St. Paul United Methodist and Interspiritual Community Church in Denver, CO. David and I sang in the choir of this church for two years and were delighted when our fellow singer Sue Fager asked me to give a presentation on “Viriditas.”

Some of the people attending came from as far away as Colorado Springs and Longmont. We took the St. Hildegard Exhibit and as always the Nerve Cookies and Parsley Heart Wine were a huge hit!

We began the presentation with a viewing of the film, By This Kiss. You should have seen the smiles in the audience when David and I concluded the presentation with the singing and dancing of Psalm 91. Truly one of our greatest hits!

Regional Theater
Feathers on the Breath of God

It’s no small feat to capture the life of a visionary, but July 18 through 21, Hildegard von Bingen, the twelvth-century German writer, composer, activist, healer, philosopher, scientist, mystic and Benedictine abbess, comes to life on the stage of the Bas Bleu Theatre.

The interactive experience begins with Hildegard’s Journey through the Senses, a traveling exhibit featuring art, replicas, stained glass and models of the abbeys where she worked (crafted by artists in Greeley). Sample one of Hildegard’s herbal remedies (like parsely heart wine and spelt “nerve cookies”) then head into the main theater for a performance of Feathers on the Breath of God, an original musical theater performance and homage to Hildegard’s many-faceted brilliance. Both were created by Jeannine Goode-Allen, DMin, who lives and works in Boulder, where the show debuted last summer.

The show, starring Goode-Allen, explores the yearning for connection with divinity and creative inspiration, and incorporates projection screens, dancing, performances of Hildegard’s haunting hymns as well as contemporary compositions and an interlude with a tap-dancing archangel.

“What Hildegard accomplished in her life defies the mind,” Goode-Allen says. “I want people to really hear and feel and savor the senses of this work, the essential experience of it.  lt’s a creative feast. and something of that rubs off, leaving you thinking about where you want your own creative pursuits to lead.” For more info on the project visit viriditasllc.com; for tickets, basbleu.org or call 970-498-8949.

St. Hildegard Meditation – the fire inside.

The theme for the June Tap Into Transformation celebrates the gift of direct connection to the divinity and joy in us, and the expression of that joy as it comes through our bodies and through a group of people moving together in rhythms and sounds that we create in community… and in tap shoes!!  For me, that is like a fire inside each of us. St. Hildegard describes it most eloquently in her following meditation:

Be not laxjga fire photo
in celebrating.

Be not lazy
in the festive service of God.

Be ablaze with enthusiasm.
Let us be an alive,

burning offering

before the altar of God!
